December 17, 2012, the voters of Mountain Lake, Minnesota voted down (80% NO vote and a 65% voter turnout) two school bond proposals, totaling $41,000,000 (with interest over 20 years), I was pleased to assist the ML CARE committee in their successful campaign. The interesting part is that with the help of a new state-wide group – Minnesota Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility in Education (MCFRE) – they stopped “benevolent friend”, HVAC contractor and international corporation – Johnson Controls (JCI) cold in their tracks in Mountain Lake. JCI is driving many of these extravagent school bonds across America. See MCFRE’s powerful flier here.
